Projects

American Heart Association

WPS focuses a lot of attention on non-profits and community relations. One of my main projects was increasing employee engagement for the American Heart Association's upcoming Heart Walks. This included creating and managing a MS Team's Page, hosting Lunch n' Learns, and writing articles and posts for employees to see. Most recently, I began recruiting coaches for the Virtual Heart Walks - raising over $700 in one day! My goal is to have at least 10 teams with 10 walkers each. I will be continuing this work through October. Below, see some of the articles and posts I created and data from the MS Team's page.

Pay It Forward

Heart & Hands

Every summer, the WPS interns work together to create a project that will be helpful for employees, interns, and the company in the future. This summer, I was the lead of this project. Due to the situation we were in, Remote Work became the focus of the project. We created a manual for MS Teams, a Handbook for our company server, Team Engagement activities, a new FAQ page for the Help Desk, and helped improve the current Service Portal. Working remotely could have been a challenge, but taking the lead on this project brought impressive work and improved relationships between the 29 interns. Below, see some examples of the work, our final video, and a virtual "group" photo.

Other Experiences

While this summer looked a little different from most, I still came out of the internship with valuable experience I can apply to any future career. I had the opportunity to research virtual events by attending webinars, being certified through PCMA, and attending a virtual Expo. I also had the opportunity to learn from a very talented team of women who came from a variety of event and hospitality backgrounds. Together we worked on promo items for an incentive trip, brainstorming fundraising ideas, sending out thousands of masks to customers and employees, and hosting a company-wide Virtual Town Hall. Even though in-person events were impossible this summer, I had an internship like no other that gave me experience and knowledge I wouldn't have had before.
